Yesterday the Supreme Court blocked a court order that allowed a transgender boy named Gavin Grimm to use the boys’ restroom in a southeastern Virginia high school. Previously, the school board in Grimm’s district created a policy requiring students to use the locker room and bathroom of their “corresponding biological genders.” Grimm sued, and a judge ordered school officials to allow Grimm to use the boys’ restroom.
But, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court blocked that court order. The vote was 5 to 3, with the court still undecided on whether to hear the case. The court’s order doesn’t affect any other case.
