Portland’s own Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside made their way to the BUST offices in NYC to soothe our aching earbuds with a stripped-down version of their rockabilly love song, “Shivers.” Only two of the usual quartet made it out for this intimate performance, with Ford on acoustic guitar and lead guitarist Jeff Munger on electric guitar. Munger’s classic country riffs and solo matched Sallie’s soulful energy with ease. As one of the few audience members, I’ve got to admit that Ford’s pure, raw voice gave me shivers.
