If you’re lucky enough to live in the fabulous city of Portland, you could experience a perk other than having an adult-sleep away camp in the works for your fair city. The hit IFC show Portlandia is looking for season three extras. Call your oldest relative, because they’re looking for “everybody and their grandma” according to the call sheet. Portland’s bustling “hiking trails, backyard sustainable organic farms and basement rock venues” wouldn’t be complete without youths and geriatrics alike.
The best part (other than seeing the side of your back next to SNL’s Fred Armisen) is that you’ll be $70 richer for every day you work. The worst part is that you could be called in at a moment’s notice, and a majority of extra-ing is waiting. And you get to spend lots of quality time with the extra wrangler, “who will, honestly, wrangle you like you’ve never been wrangled before,” as the call sheet says. Extras will be rubbing elbows with an SNL star and a Peabody-award-winning comedienne, Carrie Brownstein. Although guest stars for the upcoming season have yet to be announced, previous choices have included Jeff Goldblum and Jason Sudeikis. It’ll be the best $70 you’ve ever made.
