May is Bike Month in New York City, and there’s no better way to start the celebration off than a ride for charity. Kids of Courage, a charity dedicated to helping children and young adults with serious medical diagnoses conquer the challenges of their illnesses with fun and adventure, is hosting the first annual Bike For Courage Five Boro Bike Tour this Sunday, May 2nd.
This ride is specifically adapted for ten children with life-threatening conditionas whose illnesses would otherwise make them unable to participate in cycling. Children with spinal bifida, cerebral palsy, and leukemia are part of this courageous ride, all through the efforts of volunteers who raised the money to make this ride possible.
As a bike messenger with a life-threatening disease, I’m overjoyed that programs like this exist. Please consider donating to their foundation so that more rides like this can happen, or join them at Battery Park this Sunday and get Bike Month started off right!
