I love Arcade Fire. And while I was one click away from buying my ticket to their U.S record release show for The Suburbs last week at Madison Square Garden, I went against my instinct and bought a bus ticket out of town instead. But it worked out in my favor regardless. Turns out director Terry Gilliam livecasted the entire show on YouTube for everyone who missed it. But the recording of the show is more than just a video recording, Gilliam seemed to layer images over one another to capture the breadth of the band as well as the streaming images in the background. If you haven’t heard the new album yet, the videos are a great way to become acquainted with it musically and conceptually. As always, Arcade Fire brilliantly executed the concept of this album with hollow vocals that demand a emotive, nostalgic response.
