This week some of the ladies from BUST will be heading down to Austin, TX for the annual music festival, SXSW! BUST has been a huge fan and participant in SXSW for years, not only sponsoring events, but throwing our own last year as well. Check out pics from the awesome Hangover Lounge last year here . This year we are going to be all over the fest, covering shows and parties like never before. BUST is sponsoring two majorly awesome showcases, one at the new Bird’s Barbershop space on E. 6TH, featuring bands like NASA , King Khan and the Shrines , Cut Off Your Hands and some special guests! Then we will be at the Secretly Canadian /JagJaguwar /Dead Oceans fete at the Mohawk. Both are going to be seriously fun, so stop by, say hello, pick up a mag, and even sign up for a subscription! Sara Graham, our associate music editor will be keeping you in the know with daily updates including pics and videos, interviewing some of the hottest up and coming bands out there. I will be at both of our events giving out mags and spreading BUST love to as many Austin events as I can possibly get to. It is going to be a challenge, but Sara and I are dedicated to filling you in on the best that SXSW has to offer! We will be switching off from both events all day Thursday, so catch the official BUST tables at both events, with at least one of us there, and pick up your own copy of the new issue! Some of the bands at the Secretly Canadian/JagJaguwar/Dead Oceans event include Akron/Family , Bishop Allen, and These Are Powers , making it a rocking day full of music.
