British artist Gemma Ray is releasing a new album, “Island Fire,” on May 29 and is touring this May to promote the record. She’s also released her first video off the new record, “Rescue Me.”
The video features Ray as a 1950s housewife grocery shopping as she day dreams about being “a million miles away” from the technicolor aisles of the supermarket, hoping that someone will rescue her. The combination of Ray’s soothing voice, the melancholy melody of the song with an added sci-fi hum in the background, and the nostalgic 50s look of the video make me feel like I’m “blissed out in a dream.”
Take a look at Gemma Ray’s music video for “Rescue Me,” our video of the day here at BUST.
