Yesterday the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences announced the winners of the 2010 Webbys Awards, celebrating various Internet achievements.
Amy Poehler won “Best Actress” as host of her web series, Smart Girls at the Party.
“Using her series to reach smart and passionate young girls, Poehler’s show demonstrates that branded content can be creative, entertaining and even inspirational,” it states on WebbyAwards.com.
Amy created the series last year with her friends Meredith Walker (former head of talent at SNL) and Amy Miles (a recording artist).
In each episode, she interviews a young girl in a humorously stern manner about their unique interests and aspirations. Her interviewees have included a gardener, a mystery writer, and an all-girl rock band. So far they’ve only produced eight short episodes but are currently doing casting calls for a second season.
Other Webby winners this year include Roger Ebert (“Webby Person of the Year”), OK Go (“Best Video Artist”), and Jim Carrey (“Best Celebrity Web site”).
