We Are Swimming Cities, a diverse collective of artists, performers, and builders that annually come together to embark on a large scale project, is holding a silent auction this Friday, March 6th, to raise support for their latest endeavor, The Ocean of Blood Floating Island. This year’s project, which begins in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, will involve a fleet of small boats that will travel along the Ganges River stopping along the way to Varanasi to purchase items hand crafted by locals for embellishment. Once in Varanasi, the boats will merge to form a “great floating island stage” where a performance inspired by the Ganges, the artists experience, and local artists and musicians will be produced.
The silent auction, held at Walker Stage in Manhattan, will feature over 100 works from artists across the globe and will be followed by a dance party with music by DJ Small Change, Matt Shadetek, and 2melo. Come and take home one-of-a-kind works of art, dance, and mingle for a cause!
