The New York Times had a really moving short documentary up on their site today profiling an 11-year-old Pakistani girl on the last day before the Taliban closes down her school. In her small town, Taliban militants have taken hold of their previously free and open society, and just this year have decreed that women are no longer allowed to shop in the public market and girls are no longer allowed to go to school. I dare anyone to watch this video , and then tell me with a straight face that feminism is obsolete:
