Rock goddess (and former BUST cover gal) Karen O is releasing her first ever solo album. Yes, feel free to freak out!!!!
The upcoming release, entitled Crush Songs, will be released on September 9th through Julian Casablancas’ record label, Cult. In the meantime, the album can be preordered as a deluxe vinyl LP, complete with her lovely autograph.
Karen included a handwritten note (pictured above) with her press release, which reads, “When I was 27, I crushed a lot. I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.” If her Oscar-nominated “The Moon Song” (written for the movie Her) is any indication, this may be a softer turn for the rocker who gave us crazy anthems like “Date with the Night” and “Mosquito.”
Yet we’ve always known she’s a romantic ever since “Maps.” So crush on, O fans! You’ll have a soundtrack for it soon enough.
